On this second day of Summer, I thought I would share with you a photo of where I hope to be spending many hours in the next couple of months. I call it my BBC corner (book, bun and coffee), and it is where I have my BBC time, if possible every morning, for at least half an hour. Of course it doesn’t always happen when everyday life gets in the way but in my point of view, organising two book sales a year means that it is almost a responsibility to read as many books as I possibly can so that I have lots of recommendations for each sale. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it !

Noushka is still with us, every couple of weeks the two ladies from Resto du Coeur take her to see her owner and this is the latest photograph. Although I don’t look forward to saying goodbye to Noushka, I hope for their sakes that this couple who clearly adore each other, can soon be reunited.
Dog adoptions are rather few and far between at the moment, in fact it is requests to abandon which Danielle gets day after day. The dogs Urbain and Takar on my adoption page have long outstayed their welcome there which is such shame as they are both lovely dogs. Surprisingly Ulky, after a few near misses, is still looking. Danielle has several more who, for one reason or another cannot go up for adoption yet and if there is a Dutch family/couple out there looking for a Rhodesian Ridgeback, we will have a parade in your honour !!!
Ernst has had his op and is doing amazingly well, in fact he got to off by the physio for not using the crutches enough. I’m just waiting for him to drive again so he can go and pick up his daily paper himself !
Happy days, it is tennis time again ! I have very close friends who watch tennis all the year round on various channels, but Roland Garros and Wimbledon are my favourites so I am spending a lot of time in front of the televison and meals are very much out of the freezer and into the microwave whilst dust and dirty washing slowly take over the house. In between the tournaments I’ll be popping over the England for a couple of days to visit friends and family.
I hope you are all reading loads so that I have lots of books to collect ready for the September bonanza. If you want a recommendation I can tell you that The Last Child by John Hart is a really good book.
