Little devil Frannie and Ellie (who was adopted so quickly she hardly had time to turn round let alone get on to the website !) have gone to a great home where Ellie has turned into an obedient shadow and Frannie……………well Frannie is just Frannie !!
Happy Endings
Large timid Wilbur is obviously very much at home with his new friends – and has turned out not to be so timid ! He has settled well with his new patient owners and just has to get over his fear of the car. But I suppose that when living rough he only saw cars as danger. Latest news is that there is improvement and we really appreciate his owners for working with him on this.
Long term regulars to the website may remember Teddy a rough-haired terrier who was so depressed at Carcassonne that he had stopped jumping up when people visited and had given up hope. He came to Poorpaws and I can’t say he was snapped up immediately but was definitely happier and proved to be a lovely dog. Well, the wait was worth it, just look at our boy now (he’s the one without the glasses ).
I can honestly say that tissues were needed when I visited and saw how happy and loved he is. Good for you Teddy!
After a couple of disappointments and health worries Filly has settled into her great new home with lovely couple who were anxious to take her even if there were health problems. Happily Filly is now very well and proving to be a very intelligent adorable dog who has the ability to charm everyone who meets her. A real Poorpaws star !
Remember Bracken ? A beautiful Brittany Spaniel who found himself homeless after “it’s me or the dog” marital squabble. (Personally there would have been no contest had it been me – the dog would have won hands – or paws – down !) Anyhow, Bracken struck gold and went to a fabulous home where his new owners invest a great deal of time in him, introducing him to agility which he adores. Here he is with his trophies and we are delighted to report that he has a lovely new adopted sister who is following in his pawsteps !
A lovely family came to see Babouchka but for some reason she was in Ice Queen mood and blew her chances. Enter Pumpkin who came out of the park like a bullet out of a gun with “TAKE ME, TAKE ME” written across her lovely soppy face ! It worked and she is now in a lovely home playing with Lucy and Megan – when she hasn’t got her head in the bird food drum or dustbin !
Ronnie (Barker !!) was a right ragamuffin when he arrived at Carcassonne but he ‘scrubbed up well’ and was adopted shortly after arriving at Poorpaws. Sadly that didn’t work out (Ronnie didn’t like sharing with his new Westie brother – silly boy Ronnie !) so back he came and was soon travelling up to a lovely lady where he now has all four paws under the table and lives the life of Riley.
Remember Stig the beautiful abandoned Pyreneean MountainX ? Stig is now Tigger and has proved to be the gentle giant we knew he would be. Now he is in a wonderful home and is so happy he even sent some of his pocket money to buy treats for Poorpaws who have not been so fortunate. Thanks Tigger !
Tigger has even appeared in an advertisment for a particular dog toy !!! A real darling who hasn’t let stardom go to his head !
Here you see a very comfy Darcey ! After a long time in a concrete kennel at the SPA Carcassonne where he shared the affection that the wonderful people there give with 100 other dogs, Darcey came to Poorpaws where he settled very quickly. He has now found his own personal paradise in the Limousin where all the love and affection is for him alone. Be happy Darcey, you deserve it !
Well Fly and Frannie have both got their Christmas wishes! Fly is already enjoying her new home and Frannie has her bags packed ready to go in January. Thank you to all who made this possible.
Fly (spaniel/border collie) and Frannie (little white terrier type cross) said that all they wanted for Christmas were loving homes ! Each at only just two months old both are vaccinated and chipped. Fly was found by the side of the road way away from anywhere and Frannie is the last of an unwanted litter of six – all others have been homed. Fly will be medium sized and Frannie we think will stay quite small as mum is small, dad unknown!
